Ray McWilliams

Ray McWilliams

Huntington Program Director

Ray graduated from Morehead Inspiration Center (MIC) in Morehead, Kentucky in November 2009; Recovery Point and Morehead Inspiration Center both follow the same peer to peer recovery model. He has over ten years of sobriety. Ray interviewed for a part-time Program Monitor position in January 2011 when the organization was founded as, “The Healing Place of Huntington.” We later changed the facility name to “Recovery Point West Virginia” and used the same mission of helping people recover from substance use disorder. Ray worked as a part-time Program Monitor and was later hired as a full-time Monitor on third shift. He worked as a third shift Monitor for three years before the opportunity arose for an advancement in his career.

Due to organizational growth, the organization needed to hire a Phase II Coordinator and because of Ray’s dedication and commitment to his job, he was offered the position. He then worked for three years in this role, before accepting the job as Program Director at Recovery Point West Virginia in October 2017. Ray says, “I thank God every day that He has given me an opportunity to help others who suffer from this insidious disease of addiction. I want to say to everyone that “Recovery Is Possible.” God bless!”

 Fran Gray

Fran Gray

Charleston Program Director

Fran Gray is the Program Director at Recovery Point Charleston. She has been a part of Recovery Point since 2016, when she enrolled in services due to her own personal struggles with Substance Use Disorder. Right after graduating the program, Fran began working for Recovery Point Charleston as a Program Monitor, working nights and weekends. She then later interviewed and accepted the role of Community Engagement Specialist; in that role, Fran was responsible for the intake process of new clients at Recovery Point Charleston.

“It has been an honor to be part of an organization that not only saved my life, but the lives of so many other women,” Fran shares. “I view our Charleston Facility as a HUB for the community, a place anyone can come to seek help. Charleston not only services the Kanawha area, but every county in West Virginia. I believe as a person in recovery I have a responsibility to share what I have so freely been given and to do my part for the community. It is an honor to be part of such a wonderful organization and to serve the women of our program.”

 B.J. Litz

B.J. Litz

Parkersburg Program Director

BJ I graduated at the very first Recovery Kentucky center for men, Morehead Inspiration Center (MIC) in Morehead KY. After completion of the program, he worked as a fill in Detox Monitor at MIC. Shortly after, BJ was chosen to be part of the replication team by the Healing Place of Louisville, which involved moving to Huntington, WV to replicate the same recovery model he graduated from, but would be called “The Healing Place of Huntington.” BJ took on the challenge with four Peer Mentors and helped open the facility that same year in 2011. BJ was quickly promoted to Program Monitor in February 2012 and worked a Program Monitor until being promoted to Intake Coordinator/Detox Supervisor in 2013.

In 2017 he interviewed and was offered the Phase II Coordinator position which is the role he held until his move to Parkersburg as the Program Director. “My journey with Recovery Point West Virginia has been an awesome experience and I look forward to seeing what’s still to come. I have been clean since August 20, 2008 and I enjoy sharing my experience strength and hope with the clients so they can see that Hope can be found,” says BJ.

 Brandon Lafferty

Brandon Lafferty

Bluefield Program Director

Brandon graduated the program at Recovery Point in Bluefield on January 3, 2017. He interviewed for a job as Facilities Coordinator with the organization prior to completion. Brandon was offered and accepted the job which started the following Monday. He worked part-time as Facilities Coordinator and part-time as a Program Monitor until being moved into a full-time position. From there, he was promoted to Community Engagement Specialist where he had the chance to work under the previous Program Director and learned how the business side of Recovery Point works.

Brandon attended countless meetings and was introduced to many partners that he now gets to work with daily in his current role. Brandon’s goal was always to become a Program Director, but little did he know the opportunity would present itself so soon. After working with the organization for 3 years, he was named Program Director in Bluefield. Now Brandon gets the opportunity to supervise the Facility that saved his life. “Being able to make a difference in Mercer County means the world to me,” says Brandon.
