a night to remember

Embrace hope

More than just an event, this is a powerful celebration of recovery, resilience, and the joy of new beginnings. Together, we reflect on the lives changed this year, share stories of hope, and cast a vision for the future—reminding our community that recovery is real, hope is alive, and every story matters.

about the event

Since 2013, Embrace Hope has been a cornerstone fundraising event for Recovery Point West Virginia, raising more than $700,000 to support individuals on their journey to recovery. This event exists for a simple but vital reason: to ensure that recovery remains accessible, barrier‑free, and focused on hope for every person we serve.

bridging the gap

At Recovery Point WV, we are committed to providing free, long‑term recovery services to individuals who often arrive at our doors with little more than the clothes on their backs. Embrace Hope helps fill the critical funding gaps that make this possible—gaps that grants and other restricted funding simply cannot cover.

While grant funding plays an important role in sustaining our programs, those funds are often restricted to specific purposes and limited in how they can be used. Embrace Hope provides unrestricted dollars, allowing us to meet people where they are and respond to their immediate and unique needs. This flexibility is essential when caring for more than 360 individuals at any given time across our programs.

supporting what matters most

Unrestricted support from Embrace Hope allows Recovery Point WV to provide:

safe & supportive housing

Nutritious meals

Clothing and hygiene items

basic necessities

why it matters

trusting the process

For the people we serve, support is the foundation of recovery. When basic needs are met, individuals are empowered to focus on healing, rebuilding their lives, and creating lasting change.

one mission

Embrace Hope is more than a fundraiser; it is a reflection of our community’s belief that no one should be denied recovery because of financial barriers. Every dollar raised helps ensure that Recovery Point WV can continue offering compassionate, comprehensive care at no cost, strengthening recovery pathways across West Virginia.

Testimonials

"Year after year Recovery Point clients and alumni remind us, in the most moving and compelling ways, why this work is so important."

-Stephen Zoeller

"I’ve experienced Embrace Hope from all angles: an alumnus of the program, a RPWV employee, and as a guest speaker in 2025. I know the work and dedication that goes into making it the biggest fundraiser of the year, and I’ve seen the outcomes of this passion. Lives are changed. Spirits are lifted. There’s a renewed sense of hope and healing—a revitalization of the soul. When we stand together, recovery is not just possible; it’s probable."

My experience with Recovery Point’s Embrace Hope event has been eye-opening, emotional, and inspirational. That’s a rare combination, indeed. Working in TV news gives you the opportunity to host and emcee a lot of events. It’s always an honor. What I anticipated might be a somewhat basic awards dinner for Recovery Point opened my eyes to a community of caring and compassionate people. I fell in love with the concept that people can be so thoroughly committed to each other that they are willing to help in any way they can. They truly embrace hope and help others embrace it.

I was a client when I first went to embrace hope. I actually was one of the Voices of Hope. I got to tell my story briefly on how Recovery Point changed my life. Being part of the event then, and now as an employee, is very surreal. A full circle moment. It is such an important event to those in the programs to see there are people who care, get recognition for hard work, and for the community to see all of the great work Recovery Point is doing all over the state. One year, I took some clients, and they told me it gave them so much hope and confidence to stay in the program and finish it. It truly is a magical event.

Embrace Hope is a celebration! A celebration of people in our community who have recovered and are moving forward in a positive way. When our neighbors heal and thrive, our community thrives.
